No. The set-up is more involved. The question before buying is not which principle is better, but whether the required tolerance overtaxes the time pressure method. If it does not, the simpler unit is the right choice.

What does volumetric dispensing mean?

The volume is displaced by a mechanical movement. The amount therefore depends on the distance travelled rather than on pressure. Changing viscosity and a falling fill level lose their influence on the shot size.

When the tolerance per shot is tighter than a time pressure set-up can hold across a shift. When the medium is expensive enough that over-dispensing matters. And when very small amounts have to be delivered repeatably.
