Dispensing valves
The dispensing valve releases the material flow and cuts it off again. It therefore decides how cleanly a shot begins and how it ends. The designs differ by the viscosity range they are built for and by whether they are triggered by hand or by a controller.
Frequently Asked Questions
The valve no longer closes cleanly, it drips, or the shot size grows at unchanged settings. Shortening the opening time in that state compensates for the wear and hides it at the same time.
The valve has to come apart and be cleaned before the pot life has run out. For 2K applications this property decides more than any other.
At benches where the parts change. Triggering is by lever or foot pedal. For constant opening times in series production a controlled valve is needed instead.
The spring and the pinch pad. The spring pushes the closing piston against the pad and stops the flow of medium. The pad is the counter face against which the tube is squeezed. Both work on every shot, which is why they are listed as spare parts.
One with a large free cross section and little deflection. Otherwise the required pressure rises and abrasive fillers work on the valve seat.
At the moment of closing, material in the channel is still under pressure and it follows through. On dots this shows as a varying volume, on beads as a thick start and a thin end. Low viscosity media therefore need a valve that relieves the channel as it closes.
