The dispensing head has to stay accessible without losing the position that was set. That belongs in the design of the holder, not in the first maintenance case.
The distance between needle tip and workpiece feeds straight into the result. At a manual bench without a fixture that distance changes with every part. A holder is therefore the most effective intervention on a scattering manual process and costs a fraction of a unit.
The holder has to be stiffer than the force acting on it while dispensing. A holder that flexes shifts the application point. The line also needs guiding, otherwise the tubing pulls on the head and changes its position.
