Frequently Asked Questions
Open loop means a system reacts to a setpoint without checking the result. Pneumatic pressure is switched on when a switch is pressed, and whether it arrives stays open.
Closed loop means the measured value is fed back: the actual value is captured continuously, compared with the setpoint and the manipulated variable adjusted.
