Cleaning materials

This category holds the material used to clear residues from dispensers, valves and wetted parts. Cleaning happens before the medium cures, not after. Selection follows the medium to be removed and the compatibility with the materials of the component.

Frequently Asked Questions

Reactive media are easiest to remove before they have fully cured. Once cross-linked, cleaning becomes much more difficult and, depending on the material and component, may no longer be economically viable. Cleaning should therefore be carried out within the available processing time.

The cleaning agent comes into contact not only with the dispensed medium, but also with elastomer seals, plastics and coatings. An agent that dissolves the adhesive can, for example, cause seals to swell. Material compatibility must therefore also be considered when selecting the cleaning agent.

The cleaning schedule should be based on the medium, the process and defined maintenance intervals, not only on visual inspection. Residues in the channel can reduce the free cross-section and thereby affect the dispensed quantity. For reactive media, pot life and periods of standstill must also be taken into account.
