Precise dispensing for restoration excellence!
When restoring important works of art, every detail matters. Materials must be processed in a controlled manner, adhesives dispensed precisely, and work steps reproduced reliably. This is exactly where modern dispensing technology comes into play.
During the restoration of Ferdinand Hodler’s monumental work «Unanimity» (1912–1913) at Kunsthaus Zürich, the C100-4.0® process controller and the D3PPSD-04 dispensing system were used.
When precision becomes essential
Restoration work places very specific demands on both technology and materials. Unlike conventional industrial applications, the focus is not on high production volumes, but on maximum control. Every dispensing step must be carried out precisely, carefully and reproducibly.
Especially when working with sensitive surfaces or valuable historical materials, controlled material application is crucial. Too much material can be just as problematic as uneven or inaccurate dispensing.
The dispensing system used enabled the required medium to be applied precisely and in a controlled manner. The C100-4.0® controlled the dispensing process and allowed the relevant process parameters to be set reproducibly.
C100-4.0® and D3PPSD-04 working together
The combination of process control and dispensing technology provides a high degree of control over the entire application process.
The C100-4.0® enables targeted control and monitoring of the dispensing process. In combination with the D3PPSD-04, the amount of material can be precisely adapted to the respective restoration task.
This is particularly advantageous wherever very small quantities, fine dispensing lines or consistently repeatable material application are required.
Technology in the service of art
The restoration of a work such as Ferdinand Hodler’s “Unanimity” clearly demonstrates that precise dispensing technology is not limited to industrial production.
In conservation and restoration, it can also help to make demanding work steps more controlled, reliable and reproducible. The technology deliberately remains in the background, supporting restorers precisely where accuracy and process reliability are essential.
For H. Sigrist & Partner AG, this project is a special example of how flexibly dispensing and control technology can be used – from industrial production processes to exceptional applications in the preservation of art and cultural heritage.
Individual dispensing solutions for special applications
Not every dispensing task can be solved with a standard solution. The interaction between the material, dispensing quantity, application method and process requirements is decisive.
We support our customers in selecting and designing suitable dispensing components and, where required, develop solutions tailored precisely to the respective application.
Whether for series production, laboratory applications, special processes or restoration projects: wherever materials need to be dispensed precisely, reproducibly and in a controlled manner, it is worth considering the entire process in detail.
